Rolling Readers Authors and Artists Fundraiser

The New Children’s Museum
Silent auction
Many thanks to Rolling Readers for hosting a wonderful fundraiser for a worthy cause. The Rolling Readers inspire children to love reading through their read-aloud programs at area schools. Through their program, they distribute 18,000 books a year to school children.
They had a silent auction, which included spa gift baskets, travel tickets, theme park tickets, and some really wonderful original art painted by local children who have benefited from the Rolling Reader program. One of my favorites was a depiction of David from David Shannon’s “No David” book.
I signed copies of BAIT FOR LUNCH. Other authors and illustrators were there signing books as well. It was great meeting everyone!

San Diego Public Library 44th Annual Local Authors Exhibit

Book Exhibit runs through February 2010.
The downtown library hosted a very nice reception for local authors.
I found BAIT FOR LUNCH in the case on the end of the long display.
We were treated to some nice appetizers and live harpsichord music.

Target Free Sunday at the New Children’s Museum was fun. We read Bait for Lunch and had a coloring contest. The prize was a signed copy of Bait for Lunch and a New Children’s Museum lunchbox!
