I accidentally destroyed civilization with a paper cutter.
I’m taking a 2D Design class, the kind where you draw, cut, color and glue – not the computer-aided design kind. It’s a learning curve for me, and up until this week, I thought I was getting the hang of it. But this week’s assignment was line drawings, 32 little 3″x3″ designs using thick and thin lines. Part 4 of the homework was to come up with a design for things like “past, present and future,” “male and female,” and “civilization/democracy.” I spent hours trying to figure it out. Then, in my rush to (neatly) cut out my 3″x3″ designs, I miss-measured and sliced civilization in two. Argh.
Note to self: Look before you cut. Civilization depends on you.
